Chair in material sciences, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences
Dr. Fahmi recently moved from Nottingham University England to receive in 2011 a chair in material sciences at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW) Germany. He received his diploma degree in Chemistry 1999 and his Dr. rer. nat. degree in physical chemistry of polymeric materials 2003 from Dresden University of Technology. After his post-doctoral period at physics department at the University of Nottingham 2003-2005, he moved to school of M3 in 2005 to establish his own research group NanoManu., they primary focus in the fields of nanofabrication of nanostructured hybrid materials. In his interdisciplinary research group, he holds five granted patents and has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and conference proceedings, one book and three book chapters. These cover the key aspects in fabrication of nanostructured hybrid materials. Prof. Fahmi is guest professor at Lodz university Poland and he is the coordinator of the HyNanoDend Baltic Sea Network funded (BMBF) Germany.
