Graduated in Electronics & µSystems, An joined VERMON SA, France in 1987 as Transducer Development Engineer. In 1989, he became R&D Manager covering activities in ultrasound and transducer design. In 1997, An held the position of Director of Technology in charge of Advanced Research activities, Research cooperation, EU Research programmes/projects and IP’s Strategy & Management. Since 2014, he is Vice-President and Director of Technology.
Member of EPoSS (European Technology Platform on Smart Systems) Steering Group and Member of EURIPIDES Council, An is strongly involved in Smart Systems world community focused on MNBS (Micro Nano Bio Systems);
His domain of interest is focused on Ultrasound Transducer technologies & systems, MEMS-based devices for Medical applications, Advanced Piezoelectric materials, Energy Harvesting devices and Photoacoustics. Furthermore, his expertise also covers management of European collaborative projects throughout numerous participations in RTD programmes relating to medical devices, diagnostic, therapy and.
An is author or co-author of numerous international granted patents (>12) and scientific publications in the field of ultrasound, transducers, imaging, diagnostic, energy harvesting and therapy techniques.
