Bart van Limpt
CEO, Delft IMP
Bart completed his MSc on Environmental Technology at Wageningen University in 2004, specializing in systems & control technology. Afterward, he joined Wetsus, Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology to complete a PhD on Capacitive Deionization, a novel method to desalinate water. Focus was on understanding relations between system design and unit performance.
In 2009, Bart started as Manager R&D at Voltea, a startup focusing on commercializing Capacitive Deionization technology. Here he was responsible for a multidisciplinary research & development team, developing Voltea water treatment products for industrial, point of entry and point of use purposes. Within this role, he designed key components for CapDI applications, resulting in more than 7 patents on both key materials as well as on scale-up methods for the technology. In 2014 he became responsible for the Voltea IP portfolio, managing more than 35 patent families. Bart did the technical management of joint development projects with several multinationals, leading to successful market entries.
In 2015 Bart joined Delft IMP as CEO, where he is responsible for setting up Delft IMP business, focusing on exploitation of IP and know-how on scalable production of nanostructured materials, using consultancy, small scale production and licensing.
