Researcher, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain - Vice Chair of COST Action MP1407
Dr Eva Pellicer is a ‘Ramón y Cajal’ Researcher at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain. She got the PhD in Chemistry in 2005 from Universitat de Barcelona (UB). Before joining the UAB as a Beatriu de Pinós fellow, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Electronics Department, UB (2005-2006) and at the Catalan Institute of Nanotechnology (2007-2008). She has performed postdoctoral research stays at Bioforsk (Norway) and ETH-Zürich. Dr. Pellicer has authored or co-authored over 100 articles, which have received more than 1300 (h=22) citations, and has given more than 30 invited/plenary talks both at national and international meetings (e.g. 3DMR 2011, ISMANAM 2012, Thermec 2013, ISMANAM 2013 and 26th Deutsche Zeolith-Tagung). She has received several prizes throughout her career like the Westinghouse Prize in 2005 from the Institute of Metal Finishing (UK), the “Science As Art” from MRS Spring Meeting in 2014, the national L’Oréal-Unesco for “Women in Science” in 2014 and the L’Oréal-Unesco “International Rising Talents” in 2015. Her current research interests include the synthesis of multifunctional metallic films, foams and micro/nanostructures by electrochemical methods and of ordered mesoporous metal oxides and nanocomposites by wet chemistry procedures. She is the coordinator of the European Tempus project “Development of Sustainable Interrelations between Education, Research and Innovation at WBC Universities in Nanotechnologies and Advanced Materials where Innovation Means Business” and currently acts as Training Manager of Horizon 2020 ITN SELECTA (“Smart Electrodeposited Alloys for environmentally sustainable applications: from advanced protective coatings to micro/nano-robotic platforms”) project.
