Scientific Director, Solvay
Patrick Maestro is the scientific director of Solvay, and a member of the French Academy of Technologies. He graduated as a PhD in Solid State Chemistry and Physics from Bordeaux University. He has been involved in many areas of investigations in the field of materials science, particularly with respect to applications of Rare Earths, in magnetism, luminescence, catalysis. More recently, he created several joint teams between Solvay and CNRS related to polymer science, high throughput screening, or new synthesis in chemistry. He is actively involved in prospective projects aiming at developing applications based on sustainable chemistry for the future.
