Technology Manager, Johnson Matthey Technology Center
Peter joined Johnson Matthey in 1988 and currently holds the position of Technology Manager responsible for the catalysis and materials department at the JMTC. His group is engaged in a range of strategic energy storage, catalytic, nano-material and glass/ceramic based research programs. Peter has a wide range of patents and publications in the above areas. His personal expertise lies in the area of coordination chemistry of precious metals notably gold and has developed industrial scalable solid state synthetic routes to make an array of nano particulate metal oxides. He has also built up a range of external funded initiatives and key contacts throughout Europe via EU and UK government (DTI/TSB) funding and has been active on steering committees such as the NanoKTN.
He is a member of the Royal Society of chemistry and promotes JM technology at conferences and universities, where there are several interactions relevant to JM activities.
