Liaison Officer, University of Twente
Dr. Rolf Vermeij is Liaison Officer for the University of Twente and Working Group Leader of the ERRIN Working Group on Nanotechnology. He has a (research) background in chemistry, biophysics and nanotechnology, but has worked in his current position in EU-policy and projects since 2009.
The ERRIN Working Group on Nanotechnology brings together regional stakeholders to discuss nanotechnology-related policy directions and initiatives and to share experiences on regional aspects of research and innovation on nanotechnology. This Working Group is one of fifteen Working Groups of the European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN), which is a network of more than 90 regions. ERRIN participates in selectively in European projects, representing the joint expertise of its member regions.
In his role as Liaison Officer for the University of Twente, Vermeij coordinates the university’s efforts in contributing to European policy-making and leads the support office for project application. The University of Twente holds more than 200 projects under FP7 and more than 30 under Horizon 2020.
