Head of External Affairs, Collaborative Centre for Nanotechnologies (CCAN)
Victor Acinas is responsible for external affairs at CCAN, an Irish public-private partnership for collaborative nanotechnology R&D which includes members such as Intel and Applied Materials. He has over 10 years practical experience in leading strategic R&D alliances co-financed with EU, national and regional funds via competitive calls in programmes such as Horizon 2020, FP7 and ENIAC. Prior to joining CCAN, he was R&D Project Manager at the large technology company Abengoa and combined teaching and research at Tampere University of Technology in Finland. Victor is an active member of the European research and innovation community and sits at different expert groups such as the Steering Committee of the Advanced Materials European Technology Platform, and the EC High Level Group on Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials.
